AQUEN designs, builds and commissions water treatment and injection facilities across western Canada

Our use of fit-for-purpose, modular and mobile designs offers maximum flexibility throughout the life of our clients’ projects and minimizes stranding capital as a client’s needs evolve.  We design our systems so they can be easily expanded, upgraded or relocated.

Factory acceptance and “wet-tests” on fully-assembled modules in the shop are available to minimize the requirement for field labour and accelerate field commissioning.  Our module designs provide “dual” connectivity: both structural guides that ensure tight fits and special pipe configuration to allow for tight flange connectivity once structural units are tightly aligned.

We’ll also utilize the full range of high-pressure, high-volume pumps specific to the application.  For example, for produced water and flowback applications, we’ll utilize horizontally-placed submersible pump assemblies that have been used for decades in seawater desalination.  For high-P, low volume applications, we’ll utilize positive displacement pumps that lend themselves to minimal operator intervention.  For large fresh-water applications, we’ll use multi-stage centrifugals to cover a wide range of flows and pressures.

A key consideration for northern applications is the careful design that anticipates the extreme hot/cold and high-humidity that is a challenge in dusty summer conditions or, conversely, maintaining sufficient air-changes within tight spaces during sub-arctic temperatures and weather conditions.
