Aquen has successfully utilized K’nowbe (knowledge based engineering tools) to execute projects including water disposal, waste treatment, stormwater treatment and water reuse on capital projects up to $17 million in value.
Our K’nowbe tools utilize extensive libraries of 3-D parts for families of valves, piping, vessels, instruments and assemblies. By linking Process and Instrumentation Diagrams directly to specific parts in the database, we can provide operations and maintenance staff 3-D models of facilities early in the process. Operators can validate access to control equipment, safe egress during incidents and proper ergonomics. Maintenance staff can walk through critical repair and replacement strategies to ensure equipment can be safely examined and serviced.
Ultimately, 3D laser scan as-builts can be linked to the 3D design models to provide universal and remote access to critical information during troubleshooting and optimization. Making accurate models available to distant specialists, while simultaneously providing on-site staff with access to parts libraries and procurement data, speeds up problem-solving and a return to service.
