William Berzins

Bill has played a key role in protecting and enhancing the environment throughout North America. He believes quick and efficient solution of problems supports the achievement of higher environmental performance.

Working alongside industry, government and indigenous communities, he has designed, built and operated solutions across the full spectrum of environmental issues.  He has completed hundreds of projects related to critical materials, water supply, wastewater reuse, solid waste composting and hazardous waste management.   His clients have included mining, refining, upstream oil & gas, energy, food processing, forestry, transportation and all levels of government.

Bill always strikes a balance between development and sustainability. He helped establish community-based organizations including the Bow River Basin Council and the Environmental Services Association of Alberta. He has helped indigenous communities navigate complex negotiations with the Federal and Provincial governments.

Most importantly, operations under Bill’s leadership have achieved >1 million person-hours without a single lost time incident. Protection of the environment, the preservation of human health and a focus on the highest and best use of capital investment have guided Bill throughout his career.
